About This Blog
Our Mission
To equip youth ministry leaders to more effectively reach their communities through networking with other churches.
Your Part
We don’t claim to know all the answers. We’re blogging about this to resource you as well as to learn from you.
We really want you to get involved in our discussions, so please, add your thoughts to our comment sections on each post, be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed, and follow us on Twitter.
Our Philosophy
We believe that more people can be impacted when churches team up to reach and serve their communities. Many times we find ourselves competing with other churches instead of working together. While we belong to many churches, we belong to one kingdom. At the end of the day, it’s not what any individual youth ministry accomplishes, but what God does through us. As the Apostle Paul says in 1 Cor 3:5-9:
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. (NIV)
Focus in on verse 9, “We are God’s fellow workers.” Perhaps the greatest weapon Satan has utilized against churches is the numbers game and a spirit of competition rather than a spirit of unity and power (see Eph 4:3, 2 Tim 1:7).
We need to stop and check our hearts.
Who We Are
We are a few youth leaders who all serve in churches in the community of Sunland-Tujunga in north Los Angeles. We see how we can impact our local community much more effectively when we team up with other congregations.
